Details

A simple probe that shows whether the soil around a plant is dry, moist or wet. Push the probe into the soil, wait a few seconds and read the dial. It works in pots, raised beds and borders, and it needs no battery.

It gives a guide, not a laboratory reading, and different soils read a little differently. Wipe the probe clean and dry after each use so it stays accurate.

    Does what it should, but remember it is only a guide: in very dry sandy soil the needle moved slowly. I clean the probe after each use and it still reads the same as when it came.
